One avenue of enquiry for me
has been into the repetitive element found
in nature and paradoxical result of
individuality. From fingerprints to zebra
coats each line contributes to the
individual’s identity. For example, nature
itself is at the source of the bar code
systems we use to identify man made
products, just as are tigers and zebras with
their striped coats. In the case of the bar
code and animal recognition the principal is
based on repetition with a slight variation
to differentiate the products we make and
also animals in nature.
